Hey girlie! Welcome to my little space on the internet! I’m Julia DeWitt… At school I’m known as “the weird shark girl,” or “that senior who walks around looking confused,” or you might even hear “the awkward but somewhat funny, jumpy girl.” Honestly, all are true: I love sharks, I never have my glasses on so I always look confused when I walk around, I’m awkward, occasionally funny (if I do say so myself), and sometimes I get hyper and jump around.
But, how would I describe myself?
Well, I’m just an average 17 year old girl. Sometimes I do stupid things just so I can tell a good story later on in life, and I always seek adventure in everything I do. I jump at every opportunity to travel… I’ve been to over 10 countries and traveled over 125,000 miles. People often ask me: “Mountains or the beach?” I never have an answer… I’m a part-time resident of Park City, Utah and I’ve been calling the mountains home ever since I can remember. I learned how to ski before I was potty trained and nothing compares to the feeling of waking up to three feet of fresh powder and a great day of skiing ahead of you. However, part of my heart also belongs to the ocean… Obviously, being tan and feeling the sun radiate against your skin next to a beautiful beach is unparalleled to getting frostbite in the cold mountains, but I love the ocean because of the mystery it contains. I am indeed that weird shark girl and I obsess over every possibility of seeing a shark. I love to surf (although I’m not that good) and I study marine ecosystems for fun… I’m a total nerd for the ocean and I hope to become a Marine Biologist when I’m older.
Beyond traveling, I love art, photography, and videography. I swim for my high school and a summer swim team. I can never go to bed without doing a quick 15 minuet yoga meditation. My favorite animals are: three toed sloths, moose, tiger sharks, and parrot fish.
